I'm apologizing in advance for this post being so detailed, I want to remember exactly what happened.
Jan.31 (Mon. night) Baby Talan was so tired but having trouble falling asleep. We put him to bed as normal but had to keep going into his room because he would just cry and cry. I noticed him rubbing his left ear one of the times and wondered to myself if he was doing this because of an ear ache or because he was flustered and tired. After a few attempts of making him comfortable and giving him his bottle I decided to pick him up and take him into the living room where thayne and myself were watching tv. I had only been holding him for a few minutes before he zonked out, I held him until we were ready to go to bed. Through out the night Talan woke up a few times crying which is really abnormal for him, by the third time it was 4:55am, five minutes before when Thayne normally gets up to go to the gym. I had Thayne bring Baby to me and we just snuggled while he drank his bottle.
The rest of the morning was normal, got ready, came to Dana's, the boys played for a little while before Talans routine morning nap.
During his morning nap I noticed he was whining a lot in his sleep but since he was staying asleep I didn't worry too much. About 10am I heard the Talan make the saddest cry I have ever heard. It reminded me of his newborn cry. It made me feel instantly sad so I went to pick him up out of the play pen so I could hold him and rock him back to sleep.
He was laying on his stomach so when I picked him up I had to turn around to hold him. As soon as I turned him around I knew something wasn't right. His body was jolting, flex, release, flex, release. He also had this blank look on his face. Everything after that is kind of blur, I went into shock but did everything I was suppose to do. I instantly ran upstairs to get the house phone, I had no time to think about the cell phone in my pocket, dialed 911 as I ran into the upstairs living room to lay Baby Talan flat on the floor. I was hysterical with dispatch, poor lady was so nice to me and calmed me down. I don't remember much of the phone call but I do remember I had to give her Danas address that I didnt know, luckily there was a red notepad on the counter that for whatever reason had it written at the very top. I just sat next to Talans life less body as the seizure continued. I talked to him, still hysterical, and he just looked at me with this glazed look in his eyes. It was so sad. The seizure lasted about two minutes but it really seemed a lot longer. When it was over he just lay there, limp. With every breath he let out a tiny whine. I tried to put my finger in his hand but he wouldn't grab a hold of me. His eyes would just follow my every move but he just lay there, winning. I felt so helpless. All I wanted to do was see him smile and take his pain away.
The ambulance followed by a police officer finally arrived. They asked me some questions and then asked me to call someone to come take the kids so we could be taken to the hospital. I called Dana to come home and then ran next door to the neighbor, as I waited at the door for someone to answer Cami, Danas cousin that lives across the street, came out of her house and asked if she could help. I yelled to her what happened and what I needed. Cami at the time was getting her hair colored so she had it all up in foils, so she sent the girl who was doing her hair over for the kids. I've always wanted to ride in an ambulance but as soon as I had a chance I was wishing we were anywhere but there. The whole ride I kept thinking What would I do if we lost him? Could I survive that?
We were at the hospital for hours! But with every hour Talan came back little by little. The doctors ran many test and concluded that it occurred because of an ear infection that made his fever rise way to fast. I'm so grateful and relieved that Talan is safe and healthy. We are so blessed that it wasn't serious and he will not have no long term affects because of this.
